The move follows recent changes to the NPA Constitution, which introduced Associate Membership alongside the Association’s Founding Members. The new membership structure reflects the NPA’s commitment to bringing together a broader range of news publishers at a time of significant change for the industry.

As New Zealand approaches a national election and news publishers continue to navigate significant commercial, regulatory and public policy issues, the NPA is focused on ensuring the sector can speak with a strong and united voice.

NPA Chair Grant McKenzie said The Spinoff’s membership reflects the importance of a united and collaborative news media sector.
