The winners of 39 awards were announced at the 2025 Voyager Media Awards on Friday 16 May, which brought the industry together to celebrate and recognise excellence in New Zealand journalism.

Winners across four categories, including Written; Audio, Digital and Video; Photography; and All Media, were revealed at a glamorous black-tie event at the Grand Millennium in Auckland.

Jeremy Corbett hosted the evening’s festivities, which saw the industry come together for the 52nd year since the very first Awards in 1973.

Some of the big winners on the night included Keith Lynch for Editorial Leader of the Year; Herald on Sunday for Voyager Newspaper of the Year; Stuff for Digital News Provider of the Year; Anusha Bradley for Reporter of the Year; Michael Morrah for News Reporter of the Year; Charlie Mitchell for Feature Writer of the Year; Iain McGregor for Photographer of the Year; and Zoe Madden-Smith for Video Journalist of the Year.

“The News Publishers’ Association is honoured to manage the Voyager Media Awards, an evening where the industry comes together – not just as colleagues, but as a community – to recognise and applaud the extraordinary work that informs, challenges, and inspires Aotearoa.” said Brook Cameron, GM of the NPA.

Judges praised the “… extremely impressive cohort of entries…” and also said that “…the work of this year’s entrants was compelling and diverse, demonstrating an extremely high quality…that should be commended and supported more than ever in the current media landscape.”
