The News Publishers' Association has today notified Voyager and its CEO and Founder Seeby Woodhouse that it has terminated its naming rights sponsorship of the annual New Zealand Media Awards.

The decision follows the NPA becoming aware of social media content re-posted by Mr Woodhouse, which the NPA Board considered to be inconsistent with the values and standards it upholds on behalf of New Zealand’s news publishing community. While Mr Woodhouse’s profile states that re-posting does not necessarily signify his agreement with the content, and the re-post has since been taken down, NPA considers the re-post irreconcilable with its values and standards.

NPA’s members are charged with upholding the highest values and ethical standards of journalism. This year’s event will continue without a naming sponsor.
